In the year that we celebrate Outpost24’s twenty-year anniversary, we are delighted to announce the new CEO appointment

London, UK - 7 April 2021 - Outpost24, an innovator in identifying and managing cybersecurity exposure, today announced that its board of directors has appointed Karl Thedéen as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately, as the company celebrates its 20th anniversary.

Industry veteran Thedéen brings over 20 years of experience in the software and technology sector, having previously held CEO roles at media technology provider Edgeware AB and taking networking solution provider Transmode AB public (Nasdaq Stockholm) in 2011 before its subsequent acquisition by Infinera. He replaces Martin Henricson, the current CEO of Outpost24, who will remain an active member on the board of directors.

“From growing the product line of their full stack security assessment solutions, to securing new investment and expanding internationally, Outpost24 is a high growth, high potential company with a strong foundation,” said Thedéen. “The company has amazing customers and a platform that is well positioned to transform and adapt to the modern cybersecurity landscape. I’m excited to take on this role and further their mission to help enterprises efficiently protect their corporate assets and meet regulatory requirement.”

Also marking Outpost24’s twenty-year anniversary was the opening of its new headquarter office in Karlskrona, Sweden, and a new software development centre in Hanoi, Vietnam. Named the “Scandinavian Software Park” and launched by parent-company, Monterro, Outpost24 plans to recruit and leverage the highly competent and skilled software engineers that Vietnam has to offer.

The new locations will enhance and supplement the company’s existing R&D centre, and help drive further innovation in its full stack security assessment solutions and accelerate the overall growth trajectory of the company.

“In the year that we celebrate Outpost24’s twenty-year anniversary, we are delighted to announce the new CEO appointment,” said Peter Larsson, Chairman of the Board, Outpost24. “Karl is the ideal leader for Outpost24, bringing the skills and expertise that will enable us to capitalize on the massive market opportunities ahead. He has a clear vision and I’m confident that Outpost24 will achieve new height under his leadership.”

The new appointment, anniversary landmark and expansion news comes in the wake of a recent funding round in which the company secured a SEK 200 million investment in December 2020, showcasing the trust and confidence investors have with its security product offering and market traction.

Larsson continued: “In the same token, we must give our utmost thanks to Martin for his tenure over the past five years. Through his dedication and commitment, Martin has turned the business into a multi-product company and overseen the successful transition of Outpost24 to a cloud-based SaaS business. We are deeply grateful that he will remain on the board as an advisor.”
