Delivers more complete view of compliance by combining procedural controls with technical controls
Copenhagen, Denmark - June 27, 2017
Outpost24, a leading provider of Vulnerability Management solutions for commercial and government organizations, announced today the newest versions for their solution for network, web application, and compliance scanning. With the Summer 2017 release, Outpost24 delivers innovation for compliance scanning to assist organizations that must prove compliance with an increasing number of regulations, as well as continuous improvements in efficiency, security, and scale to meet the needs of organizations of all sizes.
Industry and regional compliance requirements continue to expand, forcing organizations of all sizes to rethink the investment, process, and organizational requirements to comply. The regulatory landscape is an alphabet soup that heavily burdens Ethics and Compliance teams to seek help from other parts of their organization. Specific to cyber security and data protection, IT teams can collaborate and boost productivity if equipped with the right tools and processes. According to SANS Institute “IT Security Spending Trends,” regulatory compliance is the second most cited driver for information security, slightly behind spending to protect sensitive data.
“While we clearly understand that security does not equal compliance, there is a mutually enriching relationship between the two” stated Bob Egner, CMO for Outpost24. “Our customers have asked us to consider how we can enable their security function to better support compliance needs. We believe our innovative approach will do just that, by enriching information we already collect about technical controls with procedural control information. It’s another example of how we can apply our expertise to solve problems for our customers.”
Key new functionality included in the newest version of the Outpost24 platform includes:
- Configurable compliance monitoring
Provides ability to check for procedural controls side-by-side with technical controls that result from compliance scanning. Compliance policies can be configured for any internal definitions or selected from pre-defined policies from Outpost24.
- Persistent false positive marking
Streamlines the process of analyzing vulnerability findings by allowing previously marked false positives to be retained according to policy.
- Improved cloud scanning
Extends the range of AWS instances types that can be evaluated, including smaller instances.
- Predefined scheduled scan priority
Simplifies the process of managing scan policy and schedules by allowing priority parameters to be established for a schedule.
- Additional service management authentication
Provided through support for OAuth or custom SSL certificates to organizations who use ServiceNow with Outpost24.
- Extended event notification encryption
enables all notification emails to be encrypted regardless if it contains vulnerability information or not.
