Cyber and data security is still a major talking point globally and is becoming more challenging for security teams to manage as attack techniques evolve. It’s never been more important to ensure your company’s information is protected and doesn’t fall into the wrong hands. The impact of a cyber attack is not only economical but can lead to you incurring costly fines and breaking serious data regulation laws. In 2019 we’ve already seen several stories in the media where large multinational organizations have suffered fines and reputational ramifications as a result of application data breaches. In recent high end cases, British Airways and Marriott Hotels have been fined almost £300m combined for breaching data protection and GDPR laws due to poor security hygiene, which is a severe consequence of not taking cyber and data security seriously.

Check out our interactive infographic to see how your peers are managing their application and cloud security. Taken from our recent study at Infosecurity Europe 2019 we surveyed 300 security professionals and its concerning to see that some organizations aren’t doing enough to protect their products/applications under the commercial pressure to meet deadlines and remain profitable. Despite recent big fines and the bad publicity, companies are still leaving their customers at risk because of a failure to address critical application and cloud security in products before they are introduced to the market, taking a huge gamble on customer trust.
