Winter 2020 Release: Outpost24 Introduce Risk-based Prioritization to Dramatically Reduce Vulnerability Exposure

Predictive threat intelligence powers Outpost24 Farsight for organizations challenged to improve security posture in a less time

London, UK – March 20, 2020Outpost24, a global leader and innovator in identifying and managing cyber security exposure, today announced it has released several major new product features to help customers achieve faster time to remediation. With Outpost24 Farsight, security team can make smarter, and faster decisions about how to prioritize remediations that can trim off weeks of exposure times and wipe out days of tedious manual analytics effort.

What’s new:

With the Winter 2020 release sees the launch of Outpost24 Farsight, a next generation vulnerability risk management solution powered by Cyr3con threat intelligence. Using attacker behavioral data and advanced machine learning models, Farsight analyses and predicts the likelihood of a vulnerability being weaponized and exploited over time, delivering easy to understand and evidence-based risk rating for organizations to prioritize network vulnerabilities beyond the Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS).

Gartner predicts that by 2022, organizations that use the risk-based vulnerability management method will suffer 80% fewer breaches1. ‘We listen carefully to our customers, all of which are asking us to answer the question of “where to focus” their analysis and prioritization of remediation efforts. It’s really time consuming, so there’s a need to shift the focus from identifying vulnerabilities to proactively assess and manage those weaknesses with risk-based prioritization. Farsight is the first step on our journey to create the industry’s first risk-based full stack cyber security assessment platform to help our customers match their risk posture to their risk appetite.’ Bob Egner, Head of Product at Outpost24. The solution is fully integrated with Outpost24’s HIAB and Outscan network security assessment tools, providing a single pane of glass view of real threats for an organization’s networks to improve remediation efficacy. Farsight enables our customers to adopt a risk-based approach and do more with less, without adding extra strain on security teams who must sift through thousands of vulnerabilities every day. The Outpost24 product portfolio is the only full stack cyber security assessment platform on the market today. In addition to the innovation of Farsight, all components get improvements with each release. Recent advancements include:

  • Agent based network scanning to assess mobile workers’ endpoints (such as Windows and Mac notebooks) that are frequently disconnected from the network, available in Beta stage for Windows 10 through Outscan to monitor and control assets that aren’t always active in the network and reduces their risk exposure.
  • Outpost24 now supports out of the box Thycotic connector for Secret Server to boost authenticated scanning · Role Based Access Control (RBAC) for Appsec Scale to improve user access control for dynamic application security testing
  • Cloudsec Inspect with full Azure support and CIS Azure v1.1.0 Benchmark to increases the security assessment coverage for multicloud security compliance and checks for misconfigurations, consistently across all major CSPs (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Improvements to our MSSP business model and consumption based usage
